1. Preheat oven to 350 F.
2. In small saucepan, melt vanilla caramels with 1/3 cup evaporated milk. Remove from heat and set aside.
3. Mix German chocolate cake mix, butter and 1/3 cup evaporated milk in medium bowl.
4. Spread half the cake mixture into 9 x 13” baking pan.
5. Bake 8-10 minutes in preheated oven.
6. Remove cake from oven. Pour caramel mixture over top.
7. Sprinkle chocolate chips and chopped nuts over caramel mixture.
8. Top with remaining cake mixture. Spread evenly.
9. Return baking pan to oven. Bake 20 minutes.
10. Cool completely. Cut in small squares.
